Uncharted 4: A Thief's End a accumulé le plus large volume de choix GOTY éditoriaux et de lecteurs, tout en gagnant la BAFTA, SXSW et les New York Game Awards; Overwatch est devenu le symbole du circuit officiel avec The Game Awards, D.I.C.E., GDC et NAVGTR. L’année ressemble moins à un balayage par un seul jeu qu’à la reconnaissance, dans des arènes différentes, d’un blockbuster narratif solo et d’un shooter en ligne par équipes.
