How the year played out
2022 was the cleanest landslide in the set. The Game Awards, D.I.C.E., GDC, Golden Joystick, and NAVGTR all converged on Elden Ring, and God of War Ragnarok had enough scale to be second without ever changing the direction of the year. BAFTA choosing Vampire Survivors is the one sharp exception left inside a very large Elden Ring advantage.
