Compare Games
Choose two games to compare their GOTY results and review scores. If they have results from the same year, you can also see which sources ranked one game higher.
For each year, we calculate how much of the possible points the game earned. For example, 750 out of 1,000 possible points is 75%. If a game has results from several years, we add those yearly percentages.
A source is a GOTY result published by a game outlet, award show, or similar group. The total also includes sources where this game earned zero points. An outlet's staff picks and reader votes count separately.
How the points workSame-year comparison by source
Compare the two games using results from the same year. Sources with rankings and sources with only a recorded winner are shown separately.

Compare recorded rankings
Rank-based GOTY points go only to places 1–10. Places 11 and below get zero points. Rank comparisons can still use those lower places. Some sources have only their winner or top 10 collected.
No sources have a rank for both games.
We compare a source only when both games have a rank. For example, 1st place has the advantage over 3rd. If either rank is missing, we cannot tell which game ranked higher, so that source is left out.

Which game was picked #1?
No sources have only the winner recorded.
Only the winner is recorded here, so we do not know where the other games ranked. If the source chose both games as joint winners, we count that separately under “Both picked #1”.

100 points
This chart shows the GOTY points earned from each source, up to 100 points per source. These are different from review scores. If only the winner is recorded, a sole winner gets 100 points. Zero means the game earned no points in the results we collected. It does not tell us whether that source evaluated the game.
